Each player will receive a camp T-shirt.     CABS Babysitting The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute gives everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger” style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, and the colorful magazine format of the student book makes learning fun. From getting started with your business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.     Car Seat Safety Checks Barnum Community Education & Bomber Club staff, Roxy & Jenn are certified Car Seat Safety Technicians, in collaboration with Safe Kids Coalition. We aren’t going to do an ‘scheduled’ clinic at this time, but will schedule individual car seat checks at your convenience as it allows in our schedules as we continue to learn and grow as technicians! Each of these classes are scheduled by DNR certified ATV clubs, Snowmobile Clubs, and Gun Safety Instructors not by Community Education. We partner with them and advertise when they offer classes. Get on our waiting list and we will contact you as soon as classes are available! Chose your field day option when you register.

    Home Alone Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be positive experience for a child who is mature and well prepared. This class for children will address several topics relating to be “Home Alone” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls, and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, serve weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.     FAMILY Trip to a Minnesota Twins Game at Target Field!!! Join Barnum Community Education as we head down to Target Field to watch the Minnesota Twins take on the White Sox and watch as the Minnesota Twins honor Joe Mauer along with the twins for the Hall of Fame Induction Celebration. The bus will stop at the Kwik Trip in Stacy on the way down for a snack and bathroom break. We will be seated in Grandstand seating and each ticket will come with $30 included for concessions! We are offering such a low cost thanks to funding from the Northland Foundation to promote community building across generations! Date: Sat, Aug 3 Time: 10a-7pm (estimated) Cost: $75/person includes $30 on your ticket for concessions Ages: All ages welcome! Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.     When: Mon-Thu: July 8th-11th, 15th-18th Time: 10:10a- 1:15p (est. return) Where: Proctor High School Transportation: Bus provided, please arrive at 10:10a, bus leaves the Youth Center at 10:20a (SHARP), returns to the Youth Center between 1-1:15p. Cost: $75- includes transportation Swim Levels: Levels Beginner 1- Swimmer are offered Minimum Age: 5 years BRING: Swimsuit (easy on & off without assistance), towel, goggles, snack, plastic bag for wet suit, to help our staff out, LABEL EVERYTHING Deadline: Tue, Jun 27 Class size is limited to 8/group Swim Lessons Descriptions BEGINNER 1 (5-6.5 years old) Supported floats, glides, and beginning front and back stroke work are covered. Safety practice and becoming comfortable in the water are emphasized. BEGINNER 2 (6.5-8 years of age) Children who can float independently on their front with their face in the water and back with ears in the water, and they can demonstrate the ability to swim on the front with breath control and back with forward motion. BEGINNER 3 (8-9 years old) For children who can swim in deep water independently using the front crawl with their arms out of the water while using breath control, can float on their back for 15 seconds and can swim on their back for 15 feet. INTERMEDIATE (9-11 years old) Children are able to demonstrate the ability to swim the front crawl with side breathing, elementary backstroke, and scissor kick for a minimum of 15 yards. They must be able to front and back float and tread water for 30 seconds. SWIMMER (11-14 years old) Children who can swim front crawl and elementary backstroke 50 yards, breaststroke, butterfly, back crawl and side stroke for 25 yards, tread water for 5 minutes, perform front tuck and pike position surface dives and flip turns.

    Theater Camp Performance: The Trials of Goldilocks In rhyme, mime and mirth, this exciting comedy examines the familiar fairy tale from three points of view: the traditional, the Bears', then Goldilocks'. Guilty or innocent? Was the young girl a selfish, spoiled brat, intruding where she didn't belong? Or was she the victim of three conniving bears (and their animal "band of hoods" in the woods)?
